## The people who almost bought

Docmost is the open source wiki teams pick when Confluence or Notion cannot be self-hosted: 21,000 GitHub stars, deployed on premises by governments, an NGO and enterprises, and offered as a hosted cloud plan for teams that want the same product without running it. Growth here is not a prospecting problem. Every week people sign up for the cloud trial, and every week some of them open the checkout and stop.

Those signups and abandoned checkouts are the warmest list a company has. They arrive as an email address, a first name and a timestamp, and most of them never hear from a human. A follow-up email lands in a folder. A LinkedIn message from the founder is a different thing entirely.

## What Philip wanted

Philip Okugbe wanted to reach the people who had already raised their hand: everyone who started a trial or left a checkout half done. He wanted to reach them where they would actually notice, on LinkedIn, from his own account, and he did not want to spend his evenings pasting email addresses into a search bar to find them.

## How PumpGTM runs it

Philip uploads the list as it is, emails included. PumpGTM resolves each email to the person's LinkedIn profile, drops the ones it cannot match so nothing is guessed, and shows him who is left to approve. From there it sends connection requests from his account inside LinkedIn's limits, waits for acceptance, and sends the message he wrote. When someone replies, their sequence stops and the conversation is waiting for Philip with a suggested answer.

The same list can also run by email, in one thread with follow-ups, so a person who is not active on LinkedIn still hears from the founder rather than from a no-reply address.

## Why it fits

A trial signup is a buyer who has already done the hardest part: finding you. Docmost uses PumpGTM to make sure the founder shows up right after, on the channel where a message gets read, without turning that into a second job.
