Lemlist alternatives for founders who want replies, not credits
Seven Lemlist alternatives compared on price, channels, what gets metered and MCP support, as of September 2026. Honest notes on where Lemlist still wins.

You opened the Lemlist billing page on Monday and the credit line was bigger than the plan line again. Email verification is 5 credits, a phone number is 20, an intent signal runs 20 to 400. A thousand credits is $10, so it never looks like much per lead, but you were charged for lookups where no email came back. Then a campaign report showed opens that nobody opened, and you stopped trusting the dashboard. If that is your week, you are the person searching for Lemlist alternatives, and this page is written for you.
I run PumpGTM, so I have a horse in this race. Every number below comes from the vendors' own pricing pages or public reviews, checked September 15, 2026. Where Lemlist is the better pick, I say so.
What Lemlist does well
Lemlist is a multichannel cold outreach tool. Email, LinkedIn steps, SMS, WhatsApp, and a built-in dialer, plus a 650M+ contact database and lemwarm for email warm-up, all in one seat. Most of the tools on this page do not match that breadth.
G2 has it at 4.6 out of 5 across 1,424 reviews, Trustpilot at 4.7 with 81 percent five-star. People praise fast campaign setup, dynamic images and landing pages that lift reply rates, and email plus LinkedIn in one workflow. Support replies inside a business day for most people. One r/EmailProspecting user said stable deliverability was "the main reason I'm still on it."
The MCP server is also solid: 40+ actions (lead search, enrichment, sequences, launch, analytics) for Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and Codex over OAuth.
When to look elsewhere
The complaints cluster in four places.
Credits. "Once you start using the platform to any significant degree, the costs mount up quickly" is the G2 line that gets quoted most. Verification credits are charged even when Lemlist cannot find the address. There are 96 G2 mentions of data inaccuracy. No volume discount kicks in until 20+ seats.
Reporting. One Capterra reviewer called it "literally unusable," citing false opens, clicks and lead scores. If you make decisions from the dashboard, that matters.
LinkedIn risk. LinkedIn steps require the Multichannel plan, and the caps are tight: 20 invites a day, roughly 100 a week. The founder's own LinkedIn account was banned for automation. Lemlist is an email tool with LinkedIn attached, not the other way around.
Setup. 98 G2 mentions of difficult setup, "steep learning curve" on Trustpilot, and some users reporting 10+ hour support waits.
If the pain is mostly LinkedIn, read our head to head at /vs/pumpgtm-vs-lemlist. If it is mostly email volume, Instantly is probably your answer.
The alternatives
PumpGTM
PumpGTM is an AI go-to-market engine for founders and small B2B sales teams. It finds buyers showing intent now (hiring on Greenhouse, Lever or LinkedIn Jobs, funding, tooling changes, engagement on LinkedIn posts), scores them, and runs a paced LinkedIn sequence from your own account with optional email steps from your own Gmail, Microsoft 365 or IMAP mailbox.
Price as of September 2026: Pro is $75 a month (list $99) for up to 3,000 leads a month, extra users $25 each, 7 day trial, month to month. Fits a founder or a 1 to 4 person team selling to people who are active on LinkedIn. Weakness: it launched in September 2026, it has no phone or SMS channel, and it is not a 200M-contact database. Full introduction further down.
HeyReach
Cloud LinkedIn automation built for agencies running many accounts. Growth is $79 per sender per month as of September 2026, with 100 enrichment credits per sender; Agency is $999 a month for 25 senders. Email is not native, it routes through Instantly, Smartlead or EmailBison. Fits an agency with five or more LinkedIn accounts that wants one inbox and sender rotation. Weakness: Trustpilot sits at 4.0 with 22 percent one-star, and the recurring complaint is support ("wait 3 business days"). A Reddit user summed up the solo case: "can't justify $79/month when I only use 3 LinkedIn accounts. It's built for agencies." We compared the two directly at /vs/lemlist-vs-heyreach.
Expandi
Cloud LinkedIn automation with conditional "smart sequences" and email steps. Business is $99 per seat per month as of September 2026 ($79 annual, 12-month lock-in), one seat per LinkedIn account, 7 day trial. Fits sales teams and agencies that want if-then branching and per-account IPs. Weakness: the ban stories are the loudest of any tool here. One r/LeadGeneration user "literally lost my lifelong account with 1000+ connections," and a G2 reviewer lost 1,400+ connections after six weeks. Image and video personalization are paid add-ons, and one aggregator puts real spend at $257 to $277 a month once you include them.
Waalaxy
French LinkedIn plus email sequencer, Chrome extension plus cloud. Pro is EUR 19 per user per month (300 invitations a month), Advanced EUR 49 (800 invitations, 500 email finder credits), Business EUR 69 with cold email sequences, all as of September 2026 and billed in euros only. Fits solo sellers, recruiters and small teams in Europe who want something cheap and template-driven. Weakness: sequences are template-only, personalization variables are thin, and Capterra reviewers say the features "don't really offer anything that cheaper options don't already have."
Instantly
Cold email at volume. Growth is $47 a month for 5,000 emails and 1,000 contacts, Hypergrowth $97 for 125,000 emails, as of September 2026, with unlimited mailboxes and warm-up on every plan. Fits agencies and outbound teams sending lots of email. There is an official MCP server with 31 tools, free with the subscription. Weakness: email only, no LinkedIn. Trustpilot's rating is currently suppressed after fake reviews were removed, and 25 percent of the remaining 1,161 reviews are one-star. Reviewers report spam placement despite warm-up and stale data in the built-in database.
Apollo
A B2B database (240M+ contacts) with email sequences and a dialer bolted on. Basic is $59 per user per month, Professional $99, Organization $149, all monthly as of September 2026, plus export and mobile credits. Fits small teams that want US-centric data and email in one seat. Weakness: LinkedIn steps are manual task reminders, not automation. Data accuracy is the top complaint, with 503 G2 reviews flagging it and r/coldemail users reporting 18 percent hard bounces on day one from "verified" exports. Trustpilot is 3.1.
Gojiberry
The closest thing to PumpGTM on this list: an AI agent that watches LinkedIn signals (post engagers, competitor followers, job changes, hiring, funding), scores against your ICP, and sends LinkedIn plus email. Pro is $99 a month as of September 2026 for 2 AI agents and up to 1,800 prospects contacted. Fits a founder or tiny team. Weakness: the two-sender cap is "the most repeated complaint," lead scoring is "a black box you can't tune," and Trustpilot (4.4 from 67 reviews) has recent one-stars about billing after cancellation. We wrote a longer three-way at /blog/gojiberry-vs-pumpgtm-vs-okara-ai-outreach-tools.

How PumpGTM is different
PumpGTM finds the buyers who are showing intent this week and runs the LinkedIn conversation for you, from your own account, until someone qualified replies.
It works in three steps. First, it builds the list from live signals: a Greenhouse or Lever posting for the role you sell to, a funding announcement, a tooling change, or the people who liked a competitor's post. You can also import a Sales Navigator search. Second, it scores every lead out of 100 and anyone under 60 gets no message. We wrote up why at /blog/linkedin-lead-scoring-before-outreach. Third, it runs a paced sequence: day 0 profile view, day 1 like a relevant post, day 2 personalized connection request, then a contextual follow-up, with optional email steps from your own mailbox. Replies get sorted and the qualified ones land with you.
The proof, from one San Francisco team over the last 7 days in September 2026: 546 invites sent, 356 accepted (68 percent, against roughly 20 percent industry standard), 98 qualified replies, 38 enterprise demo meetings booked. We run GTM for 10+ YC companies. Dhravya Shah at Supermemory put it this way: "PumpGTM found exactly the right leads for my business and reaches out to them, automatically."
It also runs as an MCP server at mcp.gigacatalyst.com over OAuth, so Claude, Cursor or Codex can find buyers, draft and send LinkedIn messages, and read replies. Details at /mcp.
The honest limits. We launched in September 2026. There is no phone or SMS. No multi-inbox warm-up farm; for 100,000 emails a month, use Instantly. Not a data vendor; the list comes from signals plus your Sales Navigator imports, not a 200M database. Pricing and the 7 day trial are at /.
Questions people ask
Is Lemlist worth it in 2026? For a team that wants email, LinkedIn, SMS and a dialer in one seat and can live with credit-based enrichment, yes, and the 4.6 G2 rating reflects that. If your cost is mostly credits burned on bad data, or your channel is mostly LinkedIn, the tools above will fit better.
What is the cheapest Lemlist alternative? Waalaxy Pro at EUR 19 per user per month as of September 2026, but it is template-only and billed in euros. Instantly Growth at $47 is the cheapest for pure email volume.
Which Lemlist alternative has an MCP server? Most of them now. Lemlist, HeyReach, Instantly, Apollo, Gojiberry and PumpGTM all have official servers. Waalaxy gates it to Advanced and Business. Expandi's is in private beta by waitlist.
Can I move my leads out of Lemlist? Yes. Open the campaign, go to the Leads list tab, tick the top checkbox and choose "Export as .CSV." You get name, email, company, LinkedIn URL, phone and custom variables. Our step by step is at /guides/export-leads-from-lemlist.
Is PumpGTM a Lemlist replacement? Only if your outreach is LinkedIn-first with email as a second touch. It will not replace Lemlist's SMS, WhatsApp, dialer or 650M database. It will replace the list-building, scoring and LinkedIn sequencing, and it does not charge credits.
