Expandi alternatives that will not cost you your LinkedIn account

Six Expandi alternatives compared on price, channels, metering and MCP as of September 2026. Real ban and billing complaints, and where Expandi still wins.

The email from LinkedIn arrives at 6 a.m. Your account is restricted. You were inside Expandi's recommended limits, you had the Safe Preset on, and it happened anyway. Or it is the invoice: you bought two seats and were billed for four, and the Hyperise image add-on you did not price in pushed the real monthly number well past $99. Or a campaign that took two weeks to build "mysteriously disappeared." Any one of those is enough to start searching for Expandi alternatives, and this page is the result of doing that search properly.

I run PumpGTM, which appears below. I have kept the comparison to what the vendors publish and what reviewers wrote, all checked on September 15, 2026. Where Expandi is the better choice, I say so.

What Expandi does well

Expandi is cloud LinkedIn automation with conditional "smart sequences": if the connection is accepted do this, if they reply do that, if they viewed your profile branch here. The homepage counts 19 actions and 11 conditions. Capterra reviewers say you can "create fairly sophisticated yet simple flows," and one review puts full setup at "under two hours." Each account gets a dedicated country-based IP, automatic warm-up, and randomized daily ranges (20 to 27 messages a day, for example).

Support and onboarding get real praise. "Neville went above and beyond during my Expandi onboarding" on Trustpilot, "top tier" on Capterra, same-day responses and proactive warnings when a setting looks risky. Webhooks "sync reliably" into HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce. And relative to the most aggressive tools, some users report "fewer LinkedIn restrictions" when they follow the limits.

Trustpilot is 4.5 across 234 reviews. G2 is 4.2 across 112.

When to look elsewhere

The complaints are the same four across G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and Reddit.

Bans. This is the loudest one. "Literally lost my lifelong account with 1000+ connections because I was using expandi.io automation" (r/LeadGeneration). "Expandi gets you banned. I have received multiple notices" (r/GrowthHacking). A G2 reviewer lost 1,400+ connections after six weeks and rated it 0.5 out of 5. Some report restrictions while inside the recommended limits.

Billing. Multiple Capterra reviewers report being charged for more seats than purchased, one calling it "financial fraud." Cancellation and auto-renewal friction recur on all three review sites. Annual is $79 a seat but locks you in for 12 months.

Real cost. Image, GIF and video personalization run through Hyperise and Sendspark as paid add-ons, prices not published. One aggregator estimates real spend at $257 to $277 a month. Expandi also supplies no mailboxes or domains for its email steps, and profile signals need LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator.

Reliability and setup. Campaigns "mysteriously disappear or get stuck," one user lost "60% of my work," and another spent "two weeks just understanding how to set up their first campaign." Capterra notes a "lack of manuals and descriptions for some functions."

There is no built-in contact database and no intent data. You bring the list.

The alternatives

PumpGTM

PumpGTM is an AI go-to-market engine for founders and small B2B sales teams. It builds the list for you from live intent signals (hiring on Greenhouse, Lever or LinkedIn Jobs, funding, tooling changes, LinkedIn post engagement), scores every lead, and runs a paced LinkedIn sequence from your own account with optional email from your own Gmail, Microsoft 365 or IMAP mailbox.

Price as of September 2026: Pro is $75 a month (list $99) for up to 3,000 leads a month, extra users $25 each, 7 day trial, month to month, no annual lock-in. Fits a founder or 1 to 4 person team. Weakness: launched September 2026, no phone channel, no white label, and it does not have Expandi's 19-action visual branching builder. Full introduction below.

HeyReach

Cloud LinkedIn automation built to run many accounts from one workspace. Growth is $79 per sender per month as of September 2026, Agency $999 for 25 senders. Fits agencies with 5 or more LinkedIn accounts that want sender rotation and one Unified Inbox ("a lifesaver," per Capterra). Weakness: Trustpilot is 4.0 with 22 percent one-star, mostly about support ("wait 3 business days") and campaigns stopping mid-run. Email is not native. Our full read is at /reviews/heyreach and the alternatives list at /alternatives/heyreach.

Waalaxy

French LinkedIn plus email sequencer, Chrome extension plus cloud. Pro is EUR 19 per user per month for 300 invitations, Advanced EUR 49 for 800 invitations and 500 email finder credits, Business EUR 69 with cold email, as of September 2026, euro-only. Fits solo sellers and recruiters who want cheap and simple; Trustpilot is 4.7 across 1,294 reviews with only 3 percent one-star. Weakness: 99+ templates but no custom sequence logic, so if you left Expandi for its branching you will miss it. Reviewers also mention "incorrect messages being sent" during campaigns and slow refunds. We put these two side by side at /vs/expandi-vs-waalaxy.

Dripify

Cloud LinkedIn drip sequencer sold per seat. Basic $59, Pro $79, Advanced $99 a month as of September 2026; annual is $39, $59 and $79. Fits a solo rep on one account who wants a 15+ action drag-and-drop builder and a dedicated IP on every plan. Capterra is 4.7 across 477 reviews. Weakness: no MCP, no email open tracking, webhooks cannot carry message content, and users report "account restrictions and even bans when using default settings." One reviewer: "they say 75 per day, the system only sent 5." Renewal charges without notice come up too.

Lemlist

Multichannel outreach: email, LinkedIn steps, SMS, WhatsApp, a dialer, a 650M+ database and lemwarm warm-up. Email plan $69 a month, Multichannel $109, as of September 2026; LinkedIn steps need Multichannel. Fits teams that want email as the primary channel with LinkedIn as a supporting step, plus a strong MCP server (40+ actions). Weakness: metered credits charged even when no email is found, and reporting a Capterra reviewer called "literally unusable." LinkedIn caps are 20 invites a day. The Lemlist alternatives list is at /alternatives/lemlist.

SalesRobot

Cloud LinkedIn plus email automation priced per LinkedIn account. Basic $59, Advanced $79, Professional $99 a month as of September 2026, 14 day trial without a card. Fits a small team or agency that wants an "AI appointment setter" to continue conversations and book meetings, which is the feature reviewers praise most. Weakness: Trustpilot is 2.4 from 11 reviews with 82 percent one-star, largely from AppSumo lifetime-deal holders who were later charged $15 per account a month after V2 ("It's not an LTD"). Users report campaigns "stuck at 16%," frequent disconnects and no email warm-up. The MCP claim on the homepage is not confirmed in the API docs.

How PumpGTM is different

PumpGTM finds the buyers who are showing intent this week and runs the LinkedIn conversation for you, from your own account, until someone qualified replies.

Expandi asks you for a Sales Navigator search or a CSV. PumpGTM starts a step earlier. First, it builds the list from signals: a Greenhouse or Lever posting for the role you sell to, a funding round, a tooling change, the people who liked a competitor's post. Sales Navigator imports work too. Second, it scores each lead out of 100 and skips anyone under 60, so you are not spending your weekly invite budget on the bottom of the list (why that matters is at /blog/linkedin-lead-scoring-before-outreach). Third, it runs a paced sequence from your own account: day 0 profile view, day 1 like a relevant post, day 2 personalized connection request, then a contextual follow-up, with optional email from your own mailbox. Replies are sorted and the qualified ones come to you.

Proof from one San Francisco team over the last 7 days in September 2026: 546 invites sent, 356 accepted (68 percent against roughly 20 percent industry standard), 98 qualified replies, 38 enterprise demo meetings booked. We run GTM for 10+ YC companies. Dhravya Shah at Supermemory: "PumpGTM found exactly the right leads for my business and reaches out to them, automatically."

It runs as an MCP server (mcp.gigacatalyst.com, OAuth) for Claude, Cursor and Codex, so the AI client can find buyers, send LinkedIn messages and read replies. Expandi's equivalent is a waitlisted private beta. Details at /mcp.

The honest limits. We launched in September 2026. No phone. No white label. No 19-action branching canvas; the sequence is opinionated on purpose. Not a data vendor; the list is signals plus your Sales Navigator imports. Pricing and the 7 day trial are at /.

Questions people ask

Does Expandi get you banned on LinkedIn? Some users say yes, loudly: lost accounts with 1,000+ and 1,400+ connections appear in Reddit and G2 reviews, some while inside recommended limits. Others report fewer restrictions than with more aggressive tools. No automation tool, PumpGTM included, can promise zero risk.

What does Expandi really cost per month? The Business plan is $99 per seat monthly as of September 2026, but image, GIF and video personalization are paid add-ons with unpublished prices. One aggregator estimates $257 to $277 a month all in.

What is the cheapest Expandi alternative? Waalaxy Pro at EUR 19 per user per month, then Dripify Basic and SalesRobot Basic at $59, all as of September 2026. Each has tighter limits or fewer features than Expandi Business.

Which Expandi alternative keeps conditional sequences? Dripify (15+ actions and conditions) and SalesRobot both have branching builders. HeyReach has "If Connected" conditions. Waalaxy is template-only.

How do I export my data from Expandi? Open My Campaigns, pick the campaign, go to the People tab, select or filter, then Export and choose one of the "Mail ... as CSV" options. The file is emailed to you. Lead lists and My Contacts have their own Export buttons.

Is PumpGTM an Expandi replacement? For a founder or small team whose list-building is the bottleneck, yes. For an agency that needs white label and a visual branching builder, no, stay on Expandi or move to HeyReach.
