Expandi vs Waalaxy
Expandi vs Waalaxy for a founder choosing LinkedIn automation: cloud vs Chrome extension, $99 a seat vs EUR tiers, restriction risk, add-ons, MCP and export.

It is Monday. You have 300 people saved in Sales Navigator, one LinkedIn account you have had since 2014, and a plan to send 20 connection requests a day until something happens. A friend said Expandi. A Reddit thread said Waalaxy. Both promise to do the clicking for you.
This Expandi vs Waalaxy comparison is written for a founder or a small team with one to three LinkedIn accounts. I run PumpGTM, which competes with both, so read the last section with that in mind. Everything about the two tools below comes from their own pricing and help pages and from public reviews, with the meaning kept intact.
What each tool is
Expandi is cloud-based LinkedIn outreach automation (connection requests, messages, InMail, plus email steps) with conditional "smart sequences," sold per LinkedIn account to sales teams, founders and lead-gen agencies.
Waalaxy is a French LinkedIn plus email outreach tool built as a Chrome extension with a cloud queue behind it. It sends connection requests, follow-ups and cold emails in template-based sequences, aimed at solo sellers, founders, recruiters and small teams.
Cloud vs extension
Expandi runs fully in the cloud. Each account gets a dedicated country-based IP, automatic warm-up, randomized daily limit ranges (for example 20 to 27 messages a day), a "Safe Preset" and working-hours scheduling.
Waalaxy uses the Chrome extension for login and importing prospects. On paid plans, actions run from the cloud without the browser open. On the free plan you must keep a LinkedIn tab open. The extension is still the front door, and Waalaxy advertises its 4.8 Chrome Web Store rating.
For a founder, the practical difference is small on a paid plan. Both send while your laptop is shut. Expandi's per-account IP is the bigger architectural difference, and it is also part of why it costs five times more.
Pricing: $99 a seat vs EUR tiers
Expandi's Business plan is $99 per seat per month billed monthly, or $79 per seat billed annually with a 12-month lock-in, as of September 2026. One seat is one LinkedIn account. There is a 7-day free trial. Agency pricing is custom and needs 10+ seats. Full card at https://expandi.io/pricing/.
Waalaxy prices in EUR and does not publish USD. As of September 2026: Pro is EUR 19 per user per month with 300 invitations and 25 email finder credits a month. Advanced is EUR 49 with 800 invitations and 500 credits. Business is EUR 69 with 800 invitations plus cold email sequences. Quarterly billing is 20% off and yearly is 50% off. There is a free tier limited to 3 actions a day per type and a 14-day trial. Details at https://www.waalaxy.com/pricing.
| Expandi | Waalaxy | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price (monthly, as of September 2026) | $99 per seat | EUR 19 Pro, EUR 49 Advanced, EUR 69 Business |
| Currency | USD | EUR only |
| Runs in | Cloud, dedicated IP per account | Extension for login, cloud queue on paid plans |
| Email steps | Yes, bring your own provider | Yes on Business, email finder credits on Pro and up |
| Sequence logic | If-then branching on accepts, replies, engagement | 99+ templates, custom logic limited |
| Personalized images or video | Paid add-ons via Hyperise and Sendspark | Not published |
| Free tier | No, 7-day trial | Yes, 3 actions a day per type |
| MCP server | Private beta, waitlist | Official, Advanced and Business only |
| API | Webhooks only, no general REST API | REST API on Advanced and Business |
| CSV export | Yes, sent by email or webhook | Yes, on free and paid |
| G2 | 4.2, 112 reviews | 4.6, 714 reviews |
| Trustpilot | 4.5, 234 reviews, 18% one-star | 4.7, 1,294 reviews, 3% one-star |
Two footnotes on price. Waalaxy's LinkedIn Inbox is an add-on at about EUR 20 per user per month, not bundled, and a third-party breakdown notes Waalaxy prices roughly doubled since mid-2024. A Capterra reviewer said its features "don't really offer anything that cheaper options don't already have." Expandi is running up to 70% off until September 21 for new subscriptions.
Add-on pricing and the real monthly bill
Expandi's headline is $99, but the personalization people buy it for is extra. Image and GIF personalization runs through Hyperise and video through Sendspark, both paid, prices not published on Expandi's page. One review aggregator estimates real spend at $257 to $277 a month once add-ons are included. Expandi also does not supply mailboxes or domains for its email steps, and profile and company-page signals need LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator.
Waalaxy's add-on is the inbox. Everything else you need for LinkedIn plus email sits inside the EUR 69 Business tier. If you only want invitations and follow-ups, EUR 19 covers 300 invitations a month, which is 11 a day.
Restriction risk
Neither tool can promise LinkedIn will not restrict you. Here is what reviewers report.
Expandi has the louder complaints. An r/LeadGeneration user wrote they "literally lost my lifelong account with 1000+ connections because I was using expandi.io automation." An r/GrowthHacking user: "Expandi gets you banned. I have received multiple notices." A G2 reviewer lost 1,400+ connections after six weeks and rated it 0.5 out of 5. Some users report restrictions while inside recommended limits. A third-party review does credit Expandi with "fewer LinkedIn restrictions compared to more aggressive tools" when limits are followed.
Waalaxy's limits are conservative by design: Pro is 11 invitations a day, Advanced and Business run 80 to 100 a day capped at 200 a week, and the daily quota is randomized between 80% and 100% of max with 2 to 3 minute delays. Trustpilot reviewers still mention shadow bans from heavy automation. Its 3% one-star share on Trustpilot is low for the category.
If your single LinkedIn account is irreplaceable: go slow, use the safe presets, and know you are still on the hook. I wrote up what pacing looks like in practice in the multi-touch LinkedIn outreach review.
Reliability and support
Expandi's G2 is 4.2 from 112 reviews, Capterra 4.4 from 31 with ease of use scored 4.1. Capterra reviewers report campaigns that "mysteriously disappear or get stuck," one losing "60% of my work," and multiple reviewers report being charged for more seats than purchased, with cancellation and auto-renewal friction recurring across G2, Capterra and Trustpilot. Setup is "powerful but clunky." Support is a strength: "top tier" on Capterra, with same-day responses.
Waalaxy's G2 is 4.6 from 714 reviews, Capterra 4.4 from 253. Reviewers call it "really simple to get started." Complaints: "buggy behavior during campaigns, like incorrect messages being sent," refunds taking "up to ten business days," poor support hours for US users, and template-only sequences.
MCP availability
Expandi's MCP server is in private beta behind a waitlist. It connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client, builds lead lists, drafts campaigns and replies (drafts only, a human launches) and analyzes performance. It requires an active subscription.
Waalaxy's MCP is official and live, with OAuth 2.1 via magic link and three tools: get-prospectlists, get-campaigns, add-prospects-to-list-campaign. It requires Advanced or Business. A "Copilot" Claude skill works on any plan including free.
Waalaxy is ahead here today, though three tools is a thin surface. Neither lets an AI client read replies through MCP as far as the published docs show.
Export
Expandi exports from a campaign's People tab as CSV, delivered by email, or through a webhook. Lead lists have "Export all leads" with an option to include last messages sent and received. CSV only, no plan restrictions published.
Waalaxy exports from a prospect list or the "All leads" tab: filter, select, click Export, download CSV. Fields include first name, email, phone, LinkedIn URL, Sales Navigator URL, company and custom columns. Available on free and paid plans. Programmatic reads via API or MCP require Advanced or Business. The walkthroughs are in our Expandi alternatives and Waalaxy alternatives pages.
Verdict by situation
Choose Waalaxy if you are a solo seller or recruiter, mostly in Europe, who wants a cheap template-driven LinkedIn plus email sequencer and can live with EUR billing and template-only logic. At EUR 19 to 69 it is hard to argue with for a first campaign.
Choose Expandi if you run several accounts, need if-then branching on accepts and replies, want per-account IPs and white label, and have budget for $99 a seat plus personalization add-ons. Agencies are its natural customer.
Choose neither if the bottleneck is not sending but targeting. Both start from a list you already built. The wider field, including the head-to-head of Lemlist and HeyReach, is in our LinkedIn automation tools for founders shortlist.
Where PumpGTM fits
PumpGTM is the tool for the step before either of these: deciding who deserves a message. It finds buyers showing intent right now (a Greenhouse or Lever posting, a funding round, a tooling change, engagement on a LinkedIn post), scores every lead, and sends nothing to anyone under 60 out of 100. Then it runs a paced sequence from your own LinkedIn account: day 0 profile view, day 1 like a relevant post, day 2 a personalized connection request, then a contextual follow-up. Optional email steps go from your own Gmail, Microsoft 365 or IMAP mailbox.
It is $75 a month (list $99) for up to 3,000 leads a month as of September 2026, with a 7 day trial, and it doubles as an MCP server for Claude, Cursor and Codex. It is young (launched September 2026) and LinkedIn plus email only. Last week for one SF team: 546 invites, 356 accepted (68%), 98 qualified replies, 38 enterprise demo meetings. You can start the 7 day trial or see how PumpGTM finds buyers.
Questions people ask
Is Waalaxy cheaper than Expandi? Yes, by a wide margin. Waalaxy starts at EUR 19 per user per month and tops out at EUR 69 as of September 2026. Expandi is $99 per seat per month, or $79 with a 12-month annual commitment, before add-ons.
Does Waalaxy run in the cloud or only in Chrome? Both. The Chrome extension handles login and import. Paid plans run actions from the cloud with the browser closed. The free plan needs a LinkedIn tab open.
Which is safer for my LinkedIn account? Neither is safe by guarantee. Expandi has more public ban complaints, including users who lost accounts with 1,000+ connections. Waalaxy has conservative defaults and a 3% one-star share on Trustpilot but reviewers still report shadow bans.
Does Expandi have an MCP server? In private beta via a waitlist, requiring an active subscription. Waalaxy's MCP is live today on the Advanced and Business plans.
What does Expandi really cost per month? $99 per seat list. One aggregator estimates $257 to $277 a month once image, GIF and video personalization add-ons are included.
Can I export my leads from both tools? Yes. Expandi emails you a CSV or fires a webhook. Waalaxy downloads a CSV with LinkedIn URL, email, phone and custom columns on any plan.
